As a braces specialist, Dr Poon has the privilege to do what she loves every day. Meeting patients, understanding their concerns, formulating treatment plans together, Dr Poon believes that each patient is unique and deserves best personalised orthodontic treatment.
Dr Poon graduated with an Orthodontic Masters degree under a scholarship at the National University of Singapore (NUS) with dual accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Her attitude of excellence earned her a Distinction and place on the Dean’s List.
After graduation, Dr Poon continued to train under the tutelage of Dr Dirk Wiechmann, creator of the Incognito Lingual Technique, and Drs Scuzzo and Takemoto to sharpen her skills in Lingual Braces. She continues to learn and train to assure up-to-date, quality care to her patients.
Having been practising Invisalign since 2007, Dr Poon is named Invisalign Diamond Provider and Invisalign Speaker in recognition of her experience and understanding of the Invisalign system.
Dr Chong is passionate about creating beautiful smiles. She is committed to improving facial and dental aesthetics safely and effectively. She is a certified provider in both Invisalign and Incognito and has clinical experience in growth modification and interceptive treatment for children, and clear aligner treatment for adults.
Her passion in orthodontics and smile transformation led her to pursue a three-year full-time orthodontic specialist postgraduate program. Dr Chong obtained her Masters in Orthodontics degree with honours from the University of Sydney and dual accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

While there is no ‘best’ age to start treatment, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends kids to get their first orthodontic assessment at 7 years old. This is to check that teeth are growing at the correct time and in the correct position. Facial development problems can also be corrected if diagnosed and managed early.
While fixed braces might be tricky to clean with special interdental brushes and cleaning aids, Invisalign supports easy dental hygiene practices. Just remove the aligners and clean as usual.
Under Ministry of Health regulations, orthodontic treatment is not CHAS & Medisave claimable.
However surgical dental treatments may be claimable under Medisave procedures, e.g. wisdom tooth surgery & dental implant surgery.

We want our kid patients to enjoy their Invisalign journey, therefore our Invisalign treatment are designed with low force levels and evenly distributed. It is normal to feel tight for the first few days of wearing new aligners. This tightness quickly disappears with 20+hours of daily wear.

Definitely! Invisalign forms a thin, protective layer over your teeth. Though not as protective as a traditional sportsguard, Invisalign aligners do protect your teeth and will not cause abrasions like traditional stuck-on braces.
