Can I use insurance or Medisave to cover the jaw surgery cost in Singapore?

The cost of jaw surgery correction by the Oral Surgeons is much higher than that of braces.

You will be happy to know that the costs of jaw surgery can be partially covered by Medisave and your insurance policies. Your Oral Surgeon will be able to guide you through this process.

Singaporeans and PR’s who have sufficient Medisave funds will be able to utilize Medisave to cover a portion of the jaw surgery fees in addition to private insurance coverage.

The amount of Medisave funds that can be utilized to cover the cost of jaw surgery depends on the surgical table codes set by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. Medisave will NOT be able to cover 100% of the jaw surgery cost in Singapore.

Private hospitalization insurances sometimes cover jaw surgery costs as well.  This greatly depends on the details of your insurance policy. Therefore, speak to your insurance agent for clarification. Overseas jaw surgery patients must also check if their insurance policies will cover surgical fees that occur in Singapore.

These points regarding the cost of jaw surgery and Medisave and/or insurance coverage will be discussed in greater detail at your consultation with your Oral Surgeons.
